There are four different finishes available for the ConVault
AST. Not all finishes are available at all production facilities.
Certain finishes have been found to be better suited for certain
areas, and often customers purchase the finish to match the
surrounding buildings or environment. Custom colors may affect
pricing, and have not been determined to meet the California
Air Resources Board (CARB) requirements for vapor emissions
prevention. Contact
your local representative for recommendations and availability.
Paint:
ConVault uses a high-grade paint such as a two-part epoxy, or
100% acrylic enamel with alkali resistant primer. Paint is the
easiest to clean. It does, however, require periodic repainting.
The standard color is a light beige or white (the lighter the
color, the less fuel loss due to vaporization), but almost any
color is available.
STO:
The STO finish is a textured product similar to "knock down"
(smoothed out) stucco. It has good heat and cold resistance,
and requires little maintenance. The standard color is light
beige, but several other colors are available.
Permacrete: This is similar to STO, with a
slightly rougher (popcorn type) finish. It has good heat and
cold resistance, and requires little maintenance. The standard
color is light beige, but several other colors are available.
The only color available in California is white.
Exposed
Aggregate: The ConVault exposed aggregate is the most
natural finish, with the exposed rock coated only by a clear
sealer. This finish is preferred in some areas because the beauty
of the local rock makes it very good looking, and other than
periodic resealing it requires little maintenance. The finish
will vary in appearance from tank to tank. Each production facility
uses their local rock, which varies widely by location. Therefore
the look of the exposed aggregate also varies widely from facility
to facility. If you are interested in this finish, contact your
local representative for a description of the color and appearance.
